PRIMARY FUNCTION

 

The Director of Consumer & Business Deposits will work cross functionally guided by a core principle of putting the member front and center.  The Director is responsible for driving profitable growth of acquisition, relationship deepening, and retention through the development, design and promotion of HVCU's Consumer and Business deposit product set.  The Director will devise, maintain, monitor and disseminate reporting and insights related to competitive activity, pricing, profitability, customer growth and product mix.  The Director is also responsible for evaluating and improving our products by recommending enhancements, tracking and communicating profitability and collaborating with key HVCU partners, including the line of business leadership, marketing, technology and information systems, member experience, enterprise project management, finance, legal/compliance and training.  Additionally, the Director will lead new product development and enhancement activities for checking, savings, and time-deposits for both Consumer and Business products.

 


 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Work closely with stakeholders and partners to convey the product vision, continuously verify that the product fulfills that vision (as measured by member value, growth and business outcomes) and ensure that HVCU is developing and marketing the right products.

Facilitate alignment among internal stakeholders, providing customer and market research and analytics to lead them to align product strategy and a multi-year plan.

Lead the Deposit Pricing Committee through bi-monthly meetings; developing and distributing Committee meeting agenda and materials; and by continually monitoring product pricing, recommend and get approval on pricing changes, understand any member impacts and the associated P&L and Balance Sheet impacts.

Create go-to-market plans, from early concepts through minimum viable products (MVP) to future end state.

Research member segments served by HVCU’s products.

Develop a deep understanding of member goals, the value the members derive from the product, and the channels to support the member experience.

Analyze competing offerings or capabilities, including alternatives that current and prospective HVCU members might use, to understand how to offer the differentiated products or services that members prefer.

Go to market (GTM) strategy:  Ensure HVCU teams are prepared to deliver new products and enhancements.

Partner with technology and information systems to implement requisite system changes and test and validate changes.

Work closely with marketing and communications partners to develop a launch strategy and communications plan.

Leverage training and sales development teams to develop effective Change management and communications to ready member-facing teams.

Collaborate with marketing to develop and implement marketing initiatives to drive awareness, adoption and engagement of product and solutions.

Responsible for projecting product volume in support of routine business and finance planning.

Serve as a leader for HVCUs deposit product strategy process, including deposit pricing and fees.

Knowledge of fundamental regulations governing U.S. Consumer and Business deposit accounts.

Maintain HVCU’s standard of internal controls, such as internal and external audit points working efficiently and effectively to satisfy any issues raised by regulators as needed.

Ensure compliance with HVCUs policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations.

Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools to gain efficiency.

Lead / work effectively within teams.

Complete other duties and special projects as requested by management.


Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
