PRIMARY FUNCTION

 

Determine requirements and complete all due diligence associated with Small Business loan documentation and closing process. Prepare loan documents. Communicate proactively with Commercial Relationship Managers, Branch Managers, Commercial Credit Analysts, Small Business Underwriters, and third-party vendors to ensure the CU meets the closing date and time expectations of the borrower. Coordinate Small Business and SBA loan closings and maintain documentation software. Upload loan information into system and prepare loans to be funded. Complete commercial loan quality control and data for various reports including HMDA. Provide service to internal and external member requests.

 


 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Review approved small business loan files and determine required documentation, due diligence, and closing conditions.

Collect, verify, and track borrower, collateral, and guarantor documents (financials, insurance, entity docs, tax returns, etc.).

Coordinate third party reports such as title, UCC searches, appraisals, environmental reports, and flood certifications.

Prepare accurate loan packages, commitment letters, disclosures, and closing documents in compliance with lending policies and regulations.

Process loan funding, disburse proceeds, and ensure loans are booked correctly in the loan origination system.

Support SBA Express and SBA 7(a) loans by submitting documentation, coordinating with service providers, and preparing files for closing.

Perform pre  and post closing quality control and maintain complete, compliant loan files.

Monitor processing queues, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure timely workflow to support underwriters and loan officers.

Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and process vendor invoices related to loan documentation.

Prepare pipeline and departmental reports for management and lending teams.

Assist with system testing, new product rollouts, and process improvements.


Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
