PRIMARY FUNCTION

 

Lead HVCU infrastructure team in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available systems. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence, automation, and cloud-native technologies.

 


 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Oversee the planning, deployment, and maintenance of servers, networks, storage, and cloud infrastructure

Develop and execute a forward-looking infrastructure roadmap aligned with business goals, scalability needs, and emerging technologies

Design and manage secure, resilient cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring optimal performance and cost-efficiency

Ensure 24/7 availability of core systems, networks, and services through proactive monitoring, redundancy planning, and incident response protocols

Engineer and maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to minimize downtime and data loss

Evaluate and manage relationships with hardware/software vendors and oversee infrastructure budgets and procurement

Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing infrastructure team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement

Partner with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to support deployments, troubleshoot issues, and align infrastructure with product needs


Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

 

Strong expertise in cloud platforms (Azure), container orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines

Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).

Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V)

Deep understanding of network architecture, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), firewalls (Palo Alto), load balancers, and SD-WAN technologies

Strong knowledge of telephony systems including VoIP, SIP, unified communications platforms, and contact center technologies.

Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk).

Experience with enterprise storage systems (SAN, NAS, RAID), backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault), and disaster recovery planning.

Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python for automation and orchestration.

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
